Not that I mind, since I do love the cold. It's currently 55 degrees and falling a few degrees each hour. Last night it went down as far as 39 in my area. Another cold front is coming up right behind this current one, and another one is a few days behind that.
It's funny to hear all this apocalyptic propaganda with governments and random scientists and now the United Nations about "global warming", when there are so many other scientists and meteorologists are saying it's just a shift in patterns and trends.
I mean, from just looking at the current picture, you hear of certain areas having a warmer season overall, yet other areas are breaking every record with snowfall and cold snaps.
Just last week, a bit of nature's irony took place:
A House of Representatives subcommittee on Energy and Air Policy, that was scheduled to meet Wednesday to discuss global warming, was cancelled due to inclement weather. Inclement weather means it was freezing cold, and snowing bushels in Washington D.C. Committee staffers said the meeting would be rescheduled "at a date and time to be announced later." Perhaps that means when a little more of global warming has taken place. And it was not only in Washington D.C. Maryville University in St. Louis area cancelled screening of Al Gore’s ‘Inconvenient Truth’ because of a snowstorm.
What about the "potentially worse than the previous year" hurricane season we were expected to have last year? Not one hurricane over a Cat 2, and only 1 weak hurricane brushed the coast, and nowhere near Florida! (We won't mention how Forida's insurance rates for homes still went up after last year's non-event. Well, we won't mention it now, thanks to Governor Crist, who's reversing that.)
Seems to me theories are just theories, and shouldn't be taught or thought of as facts until they're proven.
In other news, South Florida is cold. I'm loving it.
