Ripley and the Troublesome Duo

Ripley is quickly proving to be one of my toughest challenges, and while I can truly say I'm enjoying it, it's still taking a huge toll on me.

I'm tremendously tired because she keeps me up at night, barking and hollering around 2-3am for no reason at all other than she doesn't want to be in her crate. I'll take her out assuming she might need to go out but she doesn't do anything but lie in the grass and be all tired-like. But as soon as I get inside with her, she's a bundle of energy. Perfect, a nocturnal canine!

Then she's stubborn all of a sudden when it comes to her walks. In the middle of the walks, and at multiple times, she'll decide to just lie down and chew on anything her tongue can reach, which is often rocks and leaves. Yes, that's enjoyable to deal with. Randi says I have to make the walks more interesting, so today I tried it, and it seems to be working! (Thanks Randi!)

Also, if you've never given your dog or puppy an ice cube, I highly recommend you do. They're hilarious when they have it in their mouth too long, realize it's cold and toss it, only to chase it and repeat.

I'm taking the day off tomorrow (Friday the 13th, ooohhh) to focus on crate training Ripley. She really needs to get used to her crate without making a ruckus. Then this weekend I'm gonna try to lock down sit, stay, lie down and come.

Now its time to go to bed, Ripley will wake me up in a few hours...

Hang in there! Ripley is a bundle now but it will be worth it. Even thought I'm scare she might have an appetite for Ewoks.
