Congratulations to Jubi and Geen on Marriage!

Last night, I was honored to perform in my friends Olga and Nick's wedding. A little around four years of dating brought them to finally tie the knot on 7/7/07.

Here's a brief rundown of the festivities:

  • The bachelorette party consisted of a few very drunken Mandis, Edies, Olgas and a slightly drunken Jeanteth. Karaoke, hoagie rolls (to absorb the alcohol in an upset drunken stomach), a *very OMG drunk* anonymous woman dancing I-don't-know-what on the floor, walls and a Tom Jones lookalike, a $4.99 "emergency-drunken--automobile-passenger-precaution" sandcastle bucket with shovel from 7-11 and Chaser X were in full force, followed by a few rounds of mini tacos, potato skins, chicken wings and cake. Also, cheers go to Mandi for becoming "emergency sober" when needed!

  • Having my puppy break a pen on the kitchen floor, then somehow manage to get my jacket and white dress shirt off of the dining room floor and then dragging it in previously-mentioned ink -- causing me to run out to Macy's and get another dress shirt one-and-a-half hours before said wedding -- makes for a stressful pre-wedding romp. (Reminder to self (and you): put puppy away in crate well before leaving for a wedding.)

  • Showing up to said wedding location with a wrinkled, creased new dress shirt and then smoothing out the wrinkles with a hair dryer softened previously-mentioned events with a bit of humor and humility.

  • Dealing with a crazy aunt who wouldn't leave anyone alone (or stop touching them) added to the growing humor of the night.

  • Seeing Richard (for the first time in almost a year) incredibly, amazingly drunk yet alert and for the most part balanced continued to top the night off...

  • Going to "Lesbian Denny's" (for reasons Jeaneth 'will not speak of inside this building') to observe multiple parties around our table watch us in disgust at us enjoying ourselves at 1:30am and not feeling bad about their apparent disgust closed the night out nicely. [I'll follow this post up with those observations and a few good stories.]

  • Seeing and participating in getting Olga and Nick married: priceless.

Overall, it was a terrific weekend! (Especially needed when I remember of the past few weekends of stress, sickness and terrible weather.)
