It's been a while since I've done this blogging thing. Things just haven't been normal lately, or maybe it's my perception of normal that needs to change.
We just soft-launched an industry-first widget for the MOJO network yesterday, a 2-month project that I've been managing and has caused me to be at work for 70-90 hours a week for the past two months. I can certainly say it's taken a toll on me, but in the end, the widget came out pretty nicely. You can check it out on MOJOHD.com/extras. It's currently in a public beta, and we have a roadmap already for improvements, additions and ports to other platforms (AIR perhaps?). Unlike Google, our betas graduate fairly quickly to full releases.
At work, things have also changed. My sister, not even past her first 90-days yet, has been shifted into my department which is pretty exciting. Between Garett, Elissa, Adrienne and me, we'll be working hard to bring in some new clients and some awesome projects in the near future.
Something else happened that I'm not sure I can talk about, but I can certainly say it's made the 70-90-hour weeks, hassles and anything else that comes with a heavy load worth it. That's the plan at least, we just need to make it happen down the road.
As for home, Ripley is growing up. She's almost 70 pounds now and is slowing down a little, with maybe another 20 pounds or so to go. Elissa will be moving in as my roommate which brings in some much needed monies to help me do the things I've been wanting to do with this condo as well as get a new car in the next 6 months.
I began playing video games in an effort to get off the computer and get away from work for a bit. Resident Evil IV's port to the Wii, Mario Party 8 and Tomb Raider Anniversary have been keeping me distracted at home as of late, even if I have a week or two between gameplay sessions.
I've neglected my site for far too long, and as AgencyNet's Emerging Technologist, it's far overdue for a new version. I've had this AJAX-enabled site in my mind for some time now with some of the latest accessibility and standards best-practices in mind, I just need to get to actually work on that. All in all, you'll see it by 2012. Maybe sooner.
