My Favorite SNL Kristen Wiig Sketches

I haven't really been paying much attention to SNL in the past few seasons, mainly since Tina Fey and Rachel Dratch left, which I considered two of SNL's strongest players of late.

Kristen Wiig has quickly caught my attention with her high-energy and often frenetic performances in any sketch she performs in.

Here's a list of my Top 5 Kristen Wiig moments (embedded videos as made available on Hulu) after the jump.

Surprise Engagement

In these sketches, Kristen plays a woman who has so much trouble keeping surprises secret that it almost kills her. It reminds us of that one friend we've all had that spoils surprises whenever they are included in the plans... come on, they know who they are...

Penelope at Traffic School

When I first saw Penelope, I loved how Kristen portrayed a compulsive liar. No, let me rephrase that: Penelope is a compulsive, competitive liar. The catch is: one of her lies (usually always divulged at the end) ends up to be true.

Suze Orman

From the real-life financial advice diva herself, Kristen gives a unique take on Suze's on-screen antics. Her expressions and vocal inflections in this sketch are amazing!

Nancy Pelosi

Kristen's impersonation of Nancy Pelosi is awesome, especially with the flaring nostrils and always-widening eyes. In this sketch, we learn that Nancy Pelosi favors the safe word "palomino."

Weekend Update: Judy Grimes

Ever have one of those friends that just rambles on and on at 500-words a minute with barely a breath between statements? I know in most sketches, the actors are still reading lines, no matter how many (or how few) days they've rehearsed. It's amazing how Kristen can deliver these lines this quickly without tripping up the pacing.

She is by-far my favourite right now - I usually love any sketch she's in... something about her makes me laugh - no matter what.

Aunt Judy rocks!

Sorry - meant Aunt Linda (movie reviews on Weekend Update) and the Target Employee make me HOWL.
